New Abstract submission processThe familiar title-summary form no longer exists! If you have not visited the ASA annual meetings web page recently there are major changes in the mechanism of volunteering a paper for the annual meetings. TheTri-Societies has adopted a web-based abstract submission process that is available at http://a-c-s.confex.com/crops/2005am/index.htm . While this is the only method available for submitting an abstract, authors may now include graphs, charts, and tables in their abstracts. You may complete your abstract over multiple sessions. Another major change is the establishment of a charge for each abstract submitted. Volunteered abstracts are $35 per submission, graduate students and undergraduate students are $15 per submission and invited speakers will have the fee waived. All fees are nonrefundable and must be paid by credit card. Included in this abstract submission fee is the opportunity for each author to have their oral or poster presentation at the Salt Lake City meetings recorded and posted to the ASA web site for additional exposure. For oral presentations the audio can be recorded along with mouse movements and PowerPoint slides used in the presentation. Poster presentations may be submitted in several formats suitable for posting to the web site. If you are planning to submit an abstract here are a few important dates.
